Hear from US

Whether you have questions, insights, or want to collaborate, we're here to listen. Reach out to be part of the "We Got Us" movement. Together, we can build a safer and stronger Columbus.

Connect with US

The 'We Got Us' campaign is a collective effort by and for our communities in Columbus, championed in partnership with the Columbus City Council and the

Columbus Branch of the NAACP.

What is We Got US?

In Columbus, the reality of gun violence is devastatingly disproportionate. Black individuals are 7.8 times more likely to be killed with a gun than their white counterparts, according to Everytown For Gun Safety's data from 2017 to 2021. As of June 26, 2023, 68% of homicide victims in our city were Black, a sobering statistic from the Columbus Division of Police.

This stark disparity calls for immediate and united action.

These numbers are more than just statistics; they represent lives lost, families shattered, and communities broken. Columbus is a city facing exponential growth by 2030 and the loss of any of our residents due to violence, threatens to unravel the progress that we have all collectively worked so hard to achieve. Our communities have endured decades of challenges and changes to build the kind of city that hundreds of thousands more seek to eventually call home. To strengthen and fortify our neighborhoods we must return to and embrace the true meaning of COMMUNITY. We must commit to taking actionable steps daily to restore our sense of pride and connection to our great city.

Uniting Columbus Against Gun Violence to Build a Stronger Community

In 2023 we launched the We Got US Pledge, marking a vital step towards engaging the community in combating violence. This initiative aims to unite all of us, collaborating with community organizations, service providers, and residents in a collective effort to address and reduce violence in our neighborhoods. Our mission is to build a city where every individual feels safe, and communities feel whole. We believe that through collective action, shared resources, and mutual support, we can transform our city into a safer place for all its residents.

We invite you to take the pledge, support our partner organizations, and take a moment to remember all the things that make US such a great city.

Together, We Got US.
